Welcome to the Vespa Upgrade & Tuning Supplement

-

With any luck you have been enjoying the Painting Guide supplement and the Essential Maintenance Guide we recently gave away free with copies of Scootering. This latest instalment of the series is, just as promised, all about the Vespa! At 48 pages, the Vespa Upgrade & Tuning Supplement pulls together the full set of 12 monthly articles originally serialised in the magazine.

The main focus is my very own PX125, which I wanted to develop using ‘bolt on’ bits and simple tuning techniques that anyone could have a go at themselves. I chose the PX125 as they are cheaper and easier to get hold of than the 200, and I wanted to see whether I could bring the performance up to par this way.

The results were very pleasing, and as each stage is outlined with product, supplier, cost and results, you can decide which level of development suits you, and progress that far only. We did of course include some of the expected big-block stuff for the PX200 as well – the ever popular Malossi and Polini 210 cylinder upgrades for example, plus matching Polini big box exhaust, and larger 26mm carbs etc. We also threw in a few extras such as suspension, racks, sat-nav, rims and tyres… just to break things up a bit.

Hopefully everyone can get something useful out of this guide, I’ve already had feedback from readers who have implemented many of the upgrades themselves, following the guide, with similar results. Hopefully, having the entire series in one handy volume will aid anyone else wanting to do the same. Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Enjoy the Vespa Upgrade & Tuning Supplement… it’s a belter.
