Name: Scott Durnion Job: Prison officer. Scooter club: Square & Compasses SC. How and when did you first become interested in scooters: Early 80s, yeah… Mods got me into scooters! What was your first scooter: Suzuki CS50 ‘hand-me-down’ from my brother, then quickly followed by Vespa 100 sport. What is your favourite scooter model: Vespa Rally 200 & Lambretta S2 Spanish of course! What is your favourite style of custom scooter: I appreciate all styles of custom scooters especially the work that gets put into them. First rally or event: Think it was Morecambe 1987 or 1988. How did you get there: Brand new Vespa 200, ran it in on the way down there. Favourite and worst rally/event: Best one must be the old coyotes farmyard parties, not really had a bad one yet. Funniest experience with a scooter: Fitting BMX levers to an old P200 as that’s all I could get at the time, only for them to snap five miles from home and having to push the bloody thing all the way back pre-mobile phone, or me having AA membership days. What’s the furthest you’ve ever ridden on a scooter: IOW from Scotland… nightmare! What do you like about rallies/events: Beer scooters and catching up with everyone. What do you dislike about rallies/events: Crap toilets and dodgy burger vans. What’s your favourite Scootering magazine feature: Tech info and product testing. Your favourite custom/featured scooter of all time: Mercury Rally 200 and Revenge. If you had to recommend one scooter part or item of riding kit what would it be: Tyres with tread on them does help. What’s the most useless part you’ve ever bought for one of your scooters: eBay kickstart, it lasted one try.
