SCOOTER DETAILS

Name of scooter & reason: ‘Mischief & Mayhem’, based on Norse mythology in general and Loki in particular. I had also had a Vespa chop with a Norse theme back in the 90s. Scooter model: Lambretta GP. Inspiration for project and theme: Norse mythology. Time to build & by who: About 18 months in total. Cut down by myself, cylinder ported by Darrell Taylor, base coat sprayed by Dave from Lambretta Upgrades, murals by Alan Smallwood in Coalville. All rebuilt by myself. Engine spec: Kit: TS1 with Avanti large head. Crank: 62/118. Carb: Dellorto VHSH 30mm with Vforce 4 reeds and manifold. Exhaust: TSR Evo, slightly modified by Darrell Taylor. Clutch: AF road cassette. Gearbox: Indian GP200 on 19/46. Porting work by: Darrell Taylor. Dyno done by: Darrell Taylor 35bhp 25lb-ft torque. Also a Scootronics stator and AF lightened flywheel, SIP tubeless rims, custom loom for battery fed indicators, SIP speedo and horn. Top speed & cruising speed: Never had it fully flat out but should be 90+ with my fat carcass on it, will cruise at 80 no problem. Is the scooter reliable: Yes. Is there any powder coating: Yes, main tube, hubs, engine casing and forks by CJ Powder coating in Grimsby. Is there any chrome: NO! What was the hardest part of the project: Having patience not to rush it. Do you have any advice or tech tips for anyone starting a project: Take your time, use quality parts, and listen to good advice from people you trust! Is there anything still to add to the scoot: I’d like to add a rear hugger. It did have one originally, but it got a bit mullered when my R1 shocker snapped at 60mph on the A303 on the way back home from Exmouth and I haven’t got round to sorting a replacement.
