Name of scooter & reason: So Many Sides of You Bobby Womack – it’s a great tune to dance to. Scooter model: Li125 S1 (Ultimate Monza 240cc). Date purchased & cost: 2015 from Scooter Emporium – Marco. Cost £2295; it’s Italian. Total cost to date around £22,000 Gulp! Inspiration for project: We love dancing to northern soul and it’s our tune! Time to build & by who: Johnny, I have built it myself. It has been ongoing work in progress over the last two and a half years. It has had major engine modification and engraving/ chroming/gold plating plus touch up and more artwork added. It all takes time and patience. Barrel and piston: Ultimate Monza 240. Case: GT 200 Case, with loads of goodies inside. Flywheel: Variotronic. Exhaust: JL Race Pipe. Clutch: Six-plate AF Clutch. Gearbox: GP200. Carb: 30mm phbh Power Jet. Porting: Charlie Edmunds. Dyno: Yes but I don’t look at that stuff! Describe engine performance, power delivery and scooter handling: Goes like a rocket and will sit at 70 on Motorway two up all day, haven’t pushed it beyond 80 but has loads of grunt. Are there any other unique details we have missed: Loads of one-off bits done by Keith at K2 Custom, plus rear hydraulic fitted by me (Johnny) I had to work it out as no one I asked knew. Paintwork and murals: Paul Yeoman. Hardest part of the project: Everything all the time, constantly making improvements. Is there anyone you wish to thank: Tom Furness – Lambretta Harnesses, he’s a top man and will make and install a plug and play complete system. Tony Beeton for putting second engine together for us. Paul Yeoman, airbrush artist, he is the nicest guy and absolute master at doing the pics you want. Charlie Edmonds, the cylinders he produces are works of art, should be on sideboard on display.
