It was always breaking down, so s a fitting name What W is the funniest experience with a scooter: Coming C out of Leigh Com Mod nights with my mates m Steve Balcomb, Paul, Lee Brown and ssome other geezer on an auto, getting a load of abuse from a few skinheads near the chippy. We gave it large back and the punters were all giving us the cheers. We rode down the one-way system, only to run across a transit van – doors opened and a mob jumped out with hammers, bats and an axe, which Lee Brown’s 50 special seemed to like! Not funny at the time, but looking back brings a smile What do you dislike about rallies: Scooter snobs and the PC brigade. We all ride 2-wheels, autos, geared, modded up, street-racers. It doesn’t matter what you ride, as long as you get there Your favourite custom scooter of all time: Alien-themed GP Lammie ‘Steve’, which was created by Mick Gauntlet Name of scooter & reason: ‘Nasty’. Top tune by Prodigy, my fav’ band What other themes did you like: Originally I was going to do a Bobby Moore-themed Street-Racer Scooter model: Vespa PX Inspiratio­n for project and theme: I love StreetRace­rs and adopted my love of Prodigy Time to build & by who: Took about 3 years on and off. Engine spec: Kit: Pollossi - Polini barrel with a Mallossi piston. Crank: 62mm Bell crank Carb: 30mm Dellorto with RD Reed Exhaust: SIP. Clutch: DRT Race Gearbox: Standard and T5 4th Porting and Dyno work by: SG Engineerin­g Describe engine performanc­e, power delivery: Revvy at the bottom, power band kicks in then and holds at top end Top speed & cruising speed: Top speed around 80mph (ish).
