Scootering

SCOOTER SPECIFICATIONS

-

Name of scooter & reason: I’ve named it Alan after one of my best mates who passed away a few years ago. He would’ve loved it.

Scooter model: 1977 ET3 125 Primavera.

Inspiration for project and theme: Was chatting with Dave Rose beforehand (who built and did the respray for me) and between us we decided on the two-tone colour scheme. You just don’t see many around.

Time to build & by who: Four months by Dave Rose in Bognor. Stirling chap!

Any specialised parts: Crimaz semi-hydraulic front disc brake. Gives me so much more confidence now especially when I’ve got one of my daughters on the back. Engine spec

Kit: 135 Pinasco. Crank: 19mm sport crank.

SIP Vape sport electronic ignition kit (12v conversion)

Carb: standard but up-jetted.

Exhaust: Polini performance sport exhaust. Clutch: New clutch plates! Brake: Crimaz semi-hydraulic front disc brake.

Gearbox: Standard four gears.

Porting work by: Dave Rose.

Is the scooter reliable: Yes.

Paintwork & murals done by: Dave Rose – Bognor. He also did the rebuild for me. Top all-round bloke.

Hardest part of the project: Getting the Crimaz front disc brake to fully work! It’s all down to physics as I was told!

Any advice or tech tips: Patience is a virtue! Not everything goes to plan.

Thanks to: Dave Rose for his inspiration and dedication while having to go through some testing times himself but he came through in the end! Also, my family (especially my wife Jo) for putting up with my weekly commentary of updates to the scooter!! Think it must have driven them mad!
