Scooter club & town: F.o.S Tours Scooter Alliance, Doncaster.

First interest in scooters: In the early ’90s when I went to Doncaster Racecourse Custom Car Show. As part of the custom show there was a custom scooter exhibition. I saw the Memphis Belle Lambretta; I was hooked and that was when I was about 11 years old.

First scooter: 1966 Vespa 150 Sprint. Favourite scooter model: Vespa SS90.

Favourite style of custom scooter: I like original scooters with custom paint jobs and engraving. I’m not keen on chops or cut-downs but do appreciate the work that goes into them; each to their own I suppose.

First rally or event: Skegness 2009.

How did you get there: Vespa 150 Sprint.

Any A stories: Mablethorpe 2013. I’d been out on the piss all afternoon with tthe F.o.S lads. On the way back to the ssite I had a bet with one of the lads, Gibbo, that I could jump and clear one oof the swampy moats that surrounded tthe site. I took a big run up, jumped aand landed in the middle! It was November, very cold and not to mention the smell! So I had to borrow cclothes off the lads for the night. Do bear in mind that I was 30 years old at tthe time and was like a racing whippet ccompared to the lads who are all big beer-swigging piss tanks and are twice tthe size of me!

Funniest experience with a scooter: Broke down on my way back from a ride-out with the F.o.S Tours lads and I’d previously been having carb issues so assumed it was that. I strippeds the carb down at the roadside, cleaned the jets, put it back together and scoot still wouldn’tw start. I was scratching my head and spitting feathers when I noticed the petrol was switched off!

Furthest you’ve ever ridden on a scooter: When W my work van was in the garage getting fixed so I had to use my old Vespa Sprint (standard 150) to commute a 120-mile round trip a day for a month, Grimsby to Pontefract.

What do you like about rallies/events: Beer and seeing old friends.

What do you dislike about rallies/ events: Price hikes in pubs just because it’s rally weekend.

Favourite custom/featured scooter of all time: Memphis Belle.

If you had to recommend one item what would it be: Mobile phone.

Most useless part you’ve ever bought: Chrome headlight peak.
