Scootering

SCOOTER SPECIFICATIONS

-

Name of scooter & reason: Liquid. I thought it looked like flowing molten liquid? Scooter model: 1964 Lambretta.

Inspiration for project: Wanted to create something a bit different from every other Lambretta chopper and because I’m not quite right.

Time to build and by who: Eight months on and off once he started, by Richard the genius. The man is so clever, anything I wanted he would come up with a much better way of doing it. It was to have a Buell swingarm but he chucked it out as it was ugly. He fabricated the whole back end and reworked the frame. Nothing was too much trouble. He’s a 10 out of 10 all day long. Thanks to my old mate Simmo for coming and doing the wiring for me.

Any specialised parts: Stretched

Lambretta frame.

R1 rear wheel. Fabricated rear swingarm. Mid placing engine in completely different position. Springer forks. One-off seat. Engine spec

Kit: TS1.

Carb: Dell’Orto VHSB 34. Exhaust: Modified JL3. Clutch: CamLam six plate. Gearbox: GP200.

Paintwork & murals done by: Paint by Chrome Spray, Basildon. Is there any engraving done, if so,

by whom: On the side casing by the best there is, Mr Adi Clark. What was the hardest part of the

project: Getting the right man for the job and waiting for parts to come back. Three weeks means six months in most cases, so frustrating. Do you have any advice or tech tips

for anyone starting a project: Don’t put photos all over the internet before the scooter is finished just to feed your ego, it ruins the effect when it’s first ever shown! Is there anything still to add to the

scoot: Probably going to change the front wheel for a narrow one so it will take a disc brake. Is there anyone you wish to thank:

Thetford Chrome, Chrome Spray, Richard Norman of RSC Custom Fabrication, trike builder. Steven Simpson (Simmo), Nick Pegg, Corky, My Hadaway for putting up with my shit, and my f**ked-up mind for coming up with this idea.
