Scootering

OWNER DETAILS

-

Name: Rhiannon Donnelly.

Job: Nursery nurse.

Scooter club & town: LCGB & LCW. I also help run the NWBA with Stephen, I don’t do local scooter clubs because of the politics that come with it. I like to ride my scooters with friends rather than being told who to ride with.

First interest in scooters: When I was in school. Friends who I hung around with had scooters.

First scooter: Vespa ET4, that lasted around two months, then I decided that I wanted a proper scooter.

Favourite scooter model: Vespa GS.

Favourite style of custom scooter: I like the classic look of a scooter. I appreciate the time and effort that has gone into custom scooters but they’re just not for me.

First ever rally: Rhyl, we didn’t get back to the hotel until 5.45 in the morning! As with all rallies I don’t like to leave the party early!

How did you get there: Rode. Any funny stories: One that comes to mind is at the Lambretta Club Wales rally in Aberaeron. It was really windy, we decided to set up the tents near to a hedge to try and get out of the wind a little. A friend had a pop-up tent, and as he was putting it up a gust of wind blew the tent over the hedge and into the next field. The tent then continued to roll down the field towards the sea with a herd of cows chasing it. I did go and try and help but it was so funny I was no use! Furthest you’ve ever ridden on a

scooter: In 2019 I rode to Brighton and back; 650 miles in a weekend. I like to ride my scooters as much as I can, and probably cover around 3000 miles a year. Favourite Scootering magazine

feature: I’ve got to say Stephen’s JD scooter being in Scootering. The feature looked so good and he was so proud to be on the front cover. Your most recommended scooter part

or related item: Variatronic, since fitting them to the scooters, they have been very reliable. Which breakdown company do

you recommend: RAC

What would make the scene

better: More rallies nearer to where we live in North Wales!

Favourite scooter dealer: If I ever need a part I usually go to Barry Turner of Scooter Warehouse who has always looked after me.
