Name of scooter: Valkyrie.
Inspiration for project: I like chops, I had one back in the ’90s and always intended doing another one at some point.
Time to build & by who: Altogether, about three years. Gary Simpson completed the frame fabrications, Lambretta Upgrades rebuilt the engine and I completed the build.
Any specialised parts or mods: Frame cut, stretched and modified to suit my dimensions. Springer forks with Zip 50 front hub and hydraulic caliper.
Engine spec
Kit: TS1 on Indian GP200 casings.
Crank: Race 60/110.
Carb: 30mm PHBH, V Force 4 reeds.
Exhaust: JL Curly.
Clutch: AF Road Cassette.
Gearbox: Standard GP200.
Porting work by: RFS Tune.
What brand of oil do you run: Exol Optima at 3%.
Chassis Spec:
Tyres: Dunlop Scootsmart.
Rims: Front ZIP 50, Rear SIP tubeless. Suspension: Front springer forks, rear Protech shocker, Corse solid engine mounts. Speedo: Generic GPS speedo.
Grips: Billet grips and matching foot-pegs. Seat: Motorcycle bobber style.
Fuel tank & tap: 3.2-gallon Mustang tank with inline brass petcock.
Hubs: Front Zip 50 rear Uni.
Brakes: Front hydraulic disc, rear good old standard Lambretta drum.
Paintwork by: Colin Fitzgerald at The Garage Artwerks, Northallerton.
Powder coating by: CJ Powder Coating, Grimsby.
Tech tip or advice for anyone starting a project: Get the right people involved in the project and have a clear idea of what you want.
