Scootering

Welcome letter from the editor

- Dan

A warm welcome to the April edition of Scootering.

This edition marks my journey forwards into the sixth year of my tenure as editor of Scootering magazine. In late 2015, then editor, Andy Gillard, interviewed me down at the magazine head office in Horncastle. Little did I know then how ‘rough ‘n' rapid' the course which lay ahead would be… but what a ride it's been so far! Sure, there's been a few ups and downs along the way, but Covid craziness notwithstanding, I've enjoyed every single minute. Apart from the obvious reasons as to why, like riding scooters for a living etc., my enjoyment of the role has been largely due to the team who I work with. I'm not going to namecheck every single individual, but I can honestly say… from my first edition to this one, there has not been a single person who has contributed to this magazine, whether that be up front in editorial or beehind the scenes in production, who has noot been a pleasure to work with. It's therefore only right that I say a BIG thank you to everyone who has contributed past, present, and of course moving forward.

Anniversary ramblings aside, what a corker we have this month… three articles on Vespa tech, including clutches, cylinder kits and wheel rims. Plus a great mix of feature scooters and readers' rides, a corker of a road test and review feature on the PM Tuning fettled TG300, a plethora of entries in Show Us Your Scoots, a bulging mailbox and of course the legend which is… Classic Scooterist. All in all, it's a very worthy edition to step forward into year six with, so thank you to all those involved in making it happen, and an even bigger thank you to you, the reader… we sincerely hope you enjoy reading Scootering as much as we enjoy making it.

Anyway that's enough of my ramblings, it's another belter this month… stay safe and enjoy the issue, and here's to the next six years!
