First interest in scooters: 1982.

First scooter: Mk1 Vespa 125.

Favourite scooter model: Vespa P200E.

Favourite style of custom scooter: Lambretta custom choppers.

First ever rally: Great Yarmouth.

How did you get there: By scooter and it was a bloody long way!

Any funny stories: One Friday night I was going on a pub crawl around Halifax, so asked my mom who used to ride scooters if she would ride pillion and take my scooter back home; she agreed. We set off and arrived at the Orange Tree pub where we held our meetings, I said goodbye to my mom and off she went. A couple of minutes later one of the lads, Coxy, came running in saying: “Tony, someone’s nicked your scooter! I said “narr mate it’s my mom, she’s taking it back home cos we’re on the beer.” “No seriously, your scoot’s gone!” I said: “Yes mate, it’s my mom!” “Your mom’s riding your scooter?” he asked. A few minutes later, as we were stood outside watching the world go by who came right passed us papping the horn? My mom! “There you are Coxy; told ya!” The lads were amazed, one cool mother.

Favourite rally: I always enjoy the ‘Wakey, Wakey’ rally; they put on a right do and it’s only an hour away! (Bridlington is another fave as well.)

Furthest you’ve ever ridden on a scooter: Great Yarmouth or Weston-super-Mare, whichever is the furthest.

What do you like about rallies: The music, the people and looking at the custom scooters where people have put so many hours into them.

Favourite custom scooter of all time: Dazzle, the original blue one, first saw it back in early 80s; stunning.

Your most recommended scooter security item: A bloody thick chain, huge padlock and a Rottweiler!

Which insurer do you recommend: Allstyles but changed the name now – Gary Young’s the man.

Most useless part you’ve ever bought for a scooter: Sundance grips, they’re so uncomfortable but being a Yorkshireman I still have them on my scooter!

Favourite scooter dealer: Buzzsolomoto.
