Scootering

Dyno Demons

-

Hi Stan

Can I post a shout out for JG Scooters of Grantham, Lincs please? They were running their dyno at the IoW rally site in Sandown, and as my bike had been running rich, I thought I’d get them to give it the once over. I rocked up at about 3.30pm on the Saturday and spoke to head man John Gilbert to ask if they could fit me in. They’d been going non-stop since 7am but John said that if I didn’t mind waiting behind six others they’d do their best to fit me in. With nothing better to do I settled down to watch some dyno action, and it quickly became clear that these guys really know their stuff.

At 7pm, with the light beginning to fade, my GP was up on the ramp and a visual inspection revealed a leaking carb inlet banjo, some slightly worrying iron filings in the filter behind it and an incorrectly supplied carb rubber. After two hours of general problem solving, great advice and dyno tweaking, the bike was off the ramp and after settling up for a very, very reasonable price, I left at 9pm. Incredibly, as I rode away the guys were running a very nice Casa 250SSR up the ramp for a guy from Yorkshire who was keen to see what it was making.

TheTh JG teamt haveh decadesdd of f experience and knowledge, an amazing capacity to keep going hour after hour in challenging conditions, and it’s all done with great humour as they work. They offer a wide range of scooter services, and I’d recommend them to anyone. Cheers guys, you are absolute legends!

Thanks Dave, it's always good to get a personal recommendation. I saw the team at Sandown and they were certainly putting in some hours.
