Scootering

1. First of all, remove the horncast.

2. Once the horncast is removed, cut open the main wiring harness. Inside the rubber sheath you will need to find the grey wire. The grey wire gives power to the light switch. Normally the light switch runs on an AC power, but to fit the headlight correctly you will need to convert the power from AC to DC.

3. Once you find the grey wire cut the wire from the main harness, allowing enough of the grey wire to stretch over to the ignition switch.

4. The white wire from the ignition switch is a DC power source, which takes power from the battery to power the starter motor and horn.

5. Clip a scotch lock to the white ignition switch wire and connect the grey wire to the scotch lock. This will then give the light switch the DC power which is required for the LED headlight.

6. After joining both the grey and white wires, we would recommend removing the unused part of the grey wire from the block. Using a small screwdriver or pin, push the grey wire out of the block. This will stop the grey wire from becoming live once the engine is running.

Fitting the headlamp to the harness The Moto Nostra headlight is very useful and can be fitted with the original headlight harness. The black block which comes as standard inside of the box is used as a replacement if the original wire connecter block is damaged.

The wires in the LED headlight are fitted into the following colours:

RED – PURPLE

WHITE – BROWN

BLACK – BLACK

GREEN – YELLOW/BLACK

The main spade connectors that are connected to the headlight can be fitted to the headlight harness. The yellow/black wire will need to have a female end spade fitted to it, and the spare black needs to be disconnected.

That’s all there is to it!
