Marry you? I’ll think about it, Harry tells cheeky blonde (who gave him a smacker)

CLAD in a sequined Australian flag mini dress and a faux tiara, Victoria McRae already stuck out in the crowd who turned out to see Prince Harry Down Under.

But just in case she might have been missed by the most eligible bachelor in the Royal Family, she also carried a large placard with the message: ‘Marry Me Prince Harry – last chance!’

Yesterday, the 21-year-old’s cheek paid off when it earned her a kiss. The prince is at the end of a month-long placement with the Australian army before he quits the military for good and has proved as popular as William and Kate who visited last year.

Thousands flocked to Sydney Opera House to catch a glimpse of the 30-year-old as he undertook a walkabout, one of his last engagements in the country.

Among them was superfan Miss McRae, desperately hoping to catch Harry’s eye. Her ruse worked and as the prince approached she boldly asked if he would marry her.

The fun-loving royal bit his nails as he pretended to consider the offer and joked: ‘Let me think about it.’

The emboldened mother-of-one – who was with her daughter Emma – then asked for a kiss and, ever the gentleman, Harry proffered his cheek. But Miss McRae wasn’t stopping there and lunged for a peck on the lips. ‘He let me kiss him on the cheek but then I went for it. The rest is history,’ she later enthused. She added, with a hint of over-optimism: ‘It was amazing, it’s meant to be, there’s a lot of chemistry there, I’d say.’

Harry, wearing Army fatigues, also received a kiss from pensioner Daphne Dunne, seated in a wheelchair and wearing her husband’s Victoria Cross, bending down to take her hand and say hello.

The prince appeared a little taken aback by the enthusiasm of the welcome – some fans were holding up signs saying His Royal Hotness and Red Heads Rule.

He told reporters: ‘They have made me feel so at home here. It’s going to be hard to leave – I don’t want to go home.’
