Enrique on course to exit Barca in summer

- By PETE JENSON

BARCELONA coach Luis Enrique is set to walk away from the Nou Camp this summer even if he wins the Treble. Club elections will be held in July and will almost certainly mean a new president which, in turn, almost always means a new coach. This is despite the fact that Enrique, whose side beat Bayern Munich 3-0 on Wednesday, is just six games away from winning the Champions League, La Liga and the Copa del Rey. Enrique has consistently refused to discuss the second year of his contract and those closest to the 44-yearold Spaniard suggest he is resigned to leaving in the summer regardless. His situation is bound to alert a number of Barclays Premier League clubs, including Manchester City. Even if Enrique’s team win the Treble and current president Josep Bartomeu wins the election, the coach could still decide to leave with his stock high. Meanwhile, Barca’s Neymar has told Real Madrid rival Gareth Bale that he must learn to live with the criticism he is receiving. The 25-year-old Welshman has endured a torrid second season at the Bernabeu, with this week’s anonymous showing in the 2-1 defeat at Juventus a new nadir for the former Tottenham star. But Neymar, who followed up Messi’s masterclass by netting the third goal in Barca’s triumph over Bayern, admits Bale’s current situation comes with the territory of being a top-class talent. He said: ‘Criticism and pressure is normal. We all face it from time to time. You have to learn to live with it. What isn’t in doubt is that Gareth Bale is a great player.’
