Valerie Gander ( nee Grover), writes: ‘i wonder if you can help. My sister Sylvia and i were great friends in our younger days with two sisters, Sandra and Pat Parker. We all lived in Purley, Surrey.

‘Sandra and Pat lived above rawlings the opticians in the High Street, and Sylvia and i lived in Foxley lane. We had many adventures together.

‘i recall the four of us going carol singing, with Sylvia turning her back on the rest of us because we were making her laugh. in my early teens Pat came on holiday with me and my parents several times. We made hobby horses together and bought similar party dresses, as my photo shows.

‘We would hang around our homes playing records (it was the early pop years) and go shopping i n Croydon on Saturdays. Sylvia and Sandra went to the Orchid ballroom in Purley and saw Paul anka perform in Croydon. We all went to Saturday morning pictures together.

‘Pat later married and her name changed to Gould.

‘ She l i ved on Balcombe road in Horley, Surrey, and i went to visit her there, i remember, but she eventually moved away and we l ost t o uch. Sandra married richard evans and moved to Wallington.

‘i now live in the new Forest in Hampshire and my sister Sylvia l i ves i n richmond, north Yorkshire.

‘We haven’t seen Sandra and Pat for more than 50 years. do you think you might be able to locate them?’
