Next on Jeremy Kyle... his own wife’s f ling with toyboy polo star

- By Vanessa Allen

CONTROVERSIAL talk show host Jeremy Kyle was accused of hypocrisy yesterday after he tried to stop an exposé of his wife’s affair.

England polo player James Carr told how he and former model Carla Germaine met up for a series of steamy sex sessions before she and Kyle announced their separation.

The 25-year-old polo instructor said he got to know Miss Germaine, who is 15 years his senior, when he gave her lessons in 2012 but said their fling began earlier this year.

Last week Kyle, 50, issued a statement saying his ‘generally happy’ marriage was over and that he and his wife had separated amicably.

The talk show host asked for privacy and his lawyers requested a media blackout over any information related to him and his family.

But the Sun on Sunday revealed the affair between his wife and Carr, a former public schoolboy and international polo player.

The newspaper reported that lawyers for Kyle – who has made a career from the public exposure of other people’s dysfunctional relationships – had attempted to stop it from publishing the story.

Carr told the newspaper he had given Miss Germaine polo lessons in 2012 and said they had flirted, but had not begun a relationship until earlier this year.

They continued to meet up and eventually kissed in March at a bar near the Kyles’ £2million home in Ascot, Berkshire, and again a month later.

In June, Carr said the mother-of-three called him late one night and asked if he wanted to meet ‘for a cigarette’.

He said: ‘We had a smoke and a chat and she told me Jeremy was in America. Then suddenly we began kissing.

‘Without talking, I took her hand and l ed her i nside my house.

‘Carla took her high heels off so her shoes wouldn’t make a noise on our stone stairs. We started having sex – it was amazing.’

Carr said the pair met up six or seven times more over the summer and had sex up to 20 times.

He added: ‘It was just sex – it didn’t mean anything. She was worried she’d get caught.’

Kyle and Miss Germaine, 40, were married for 13 years and had three children together. He also has an adult daughter from a previous marriage. Last week Kyle said that he and his second wife had ‘sadly grown apart over recent years and had been living apart since earlier this summer’.

But Carr, a former pupil at £25,000-a-year Wellington College, said he had seen Kyle coming and going from the family’s house, which was only across the

road from his own rented home.

The former polo instructor, who played for England twice in 2011, said: ‘Jeremy was away working a lot, but I’d see him come and go in his BMW. He just kept his head down.’

Kyle met Miss Germaine in 1999 when she entered a radio competition to marry a total stranger. That marriage failed – but she went on to marry the then-radio DJ, whose television t al k s how was l aunched in 2005.

The couple were often photographed at red carpet events and at Ascot racecourse, and Miss Germaine unveiled her own clothing brand, Glitterati Polo, in 2013 – after her polo lessons with Carr.

Despite their covert meetings, Carr, who now has his own business renting luxury sports cars, said their affair became ‘the talk of the town’ in upmarket Ascot.

He said: ‘At a barbecue at my house I was asked in front of 20 people if I was sleeping with Jeremy Kyle’s wife. I tried to laugh it off. It was everywhere. We just cut all ties. There wasn’t even a goodbye.’

Kyle and his ex-wife were yesterday unavailable for comment and his lawyers have said they want privacy.
