Partick plan loan move for young Rangers winger Aird
PARTICK Thistle are plotting a loan deal for Rangers winger Fraser Aird. The 20-year-old Canadian international has managed just four games under Ibrox manager Mark Warburton this season, with his last appearance coming in a 1-0 win at St Mirren in October. English Championship side Barnsley have been credited with an interest in Aird, but the Jags are also exploring a move for the wide man as they prepare for an assault on the Premiership top six. Meanwhile, Firhill boss Alan Archibald has ruled out the possiblity of his star midfielder Stuart Bannigan leaving the club on a cut-price deal to join Aberdeen as he enters the final six months of his contract. ‘He is not going this month — simple as that,’ said the Thistle manager. ‘It would need to be crazy money to take him away.’
