COP COMEDY The Thin Blue Line, 8.40pm, Yesterday

SIX years after Blackadder Goes Forth, writer Ben Elton and star Rowan Atkinson reunited for this police comedy, which begins a repeat here. It’s not as clever as Blackadder — it’s more of a traditional sitcom — but Atkinson (pictured) is great fun as the gaffe-prone Inspector Fowler.

DOING TIME Orange Is The New Black, Netflix

THE new, fourth series begins with an influx of new inmates, which brings problems for both prisoner Piper (Taylor Schilling) — smug for now in her topdog position — and for Litchfield Penitentiary boss Caputo, who has great plans to save all these women’s souls. What unfolds from there is a deft mix of comedy and drama, which turns poignant when you least expect it.

THIS glossy U.S. series is showing on a children’s channel, but at a time that clearly pitches it to an older audience. At its heart is aspiring singer-songwriter Loren (Brittany Underwood), who meets her pop idol — an encounter that changes them both. (Sky 604, Virgin 712)
