Bloodbath’s cast of £400,000
ABOUT 20million people watched the Game of Thrones series’ finale last week. That’s more people than voted to leave the European Union. That’s almost one viewer for every Game of Thrones character.
It’s obvious why people love the show so much: it has sex, suspense, dragons and fratricide. Also it reminds us what it’s like to have reasonably sane people compete for political power and leadership.
Now it turns out that the stars of Game of Thrones, including Glasgow born Daniel Portman, will be getting huge salary rises next series, netting pay packets of around £400,000 per episode.
So when you saw characters get killed off in that last episode’s bloodbath, those anguished expressions were for real.
