Tesla misses targets

-

THERE was more terrible news for American electric car maker Tesla as it had missed a delivery target for the second consecutive quarter.

The firm, based in Silicon Valley, delivered 14,370 vehicles during the second quarter, missing its target of 17,000. It is now on track to fall short of its annual target.

Tesla has been struggling with production issues as it tries to increase volumes to cope with demand. Last week the firm was rocked by the first death by a driver using its autopilot mode.

Joshua Brown was the lone occupant and was killed in a crash that sheared the roof off the car.

He was a Tesla enthusiast and there was unconfirmed reports a DVD player featuring a Harry Potter movie was found operating in the car at the time.
