Satellite choice
TEST CRICKET England v Pakistan, 10am, Sky Sports 2
NEEDING a victory to level the series, England go to Old Trafford. They haven’t lost a Test in Manchester since 2001, when Waqar Younis’s Pakistan beat a home team that included Mike Atherton and Michael Vaughan.
T20 CRICKET Glamorgan v Somerset, 6.45pm, Sky Sports 2
AUSSIE quick bowler and Twenty20 specialist Shaun Tait has joined Glamorgan for the second half of what is proving to be a successful season in the T20 Blast — they could yet top the South Group table.
DANCE TUNES BBC Proms 2016, 7.30pm, BBC4
KATIE DERHAM, who is usually confined to presenting the Proms, is also on dancing duty in tonight’s dazzling Strictly Prom. Derham, who reached the final last year with Anton du Beke, is among those dancing the tango, paso doble, foxtrot and waltz.
COMIC-BOOK MOVIE Ant-Man, 8pm, Sky Premiere
THE latest Marvel hero is a bit smaller than all the others — but he’s no less heroic. Buffed-up Paul Rudd (pictured) is the thief who crosses paths with the original Ant-Man when he steals his special suit and puts it on — and finds that his strength increases as he decreases . . .
FUNNY FILM Ricki And The Flash, 8pm, Sky Comedy
MERYL STREEP and real-life daughter Mamie Gummer play a mum and daughter reconnecting in Diablo Cody’s typically sassy drama. Streep plays a rock star trying to erase years of hurt.
CARTOON COMEDY Bo Jack Horseman, Netflix
ON THE surface, this is an odd, jokey cartoon about a washed-up horse (voiced by Will Arnett) who used to be a U.S. sitcom star. There’s much more going on, though, and never more so than in this superb new season, in which Bo Jack is desperate for an Oscar. Will it make him happy?
DIVING GREAT Back On Board: Greg Louganis, 9pm, Sky Atlantic
THE American gold medallist, once hailed as the best diver in the world, spiralled into obscurity — and financial peril — after a bloody accident at the Seoul Olympics in 1988 when he was, secretly, HIV positive. This new profile is his sensitive reflection on life’s challenges.
BELGIAN DRAMA The Out-Laws, 9pm, More4
FOUR sisters (including Birgit, played by Ruth Becquart, pictured) are covering up the murder of their other sister’s husband in this quirky comedy drama — but now, investigators are questioning them. Part two has plenty of flashbacks that help us to understand why they did it — this man was so much worse than the boor he appeared to be last week.
U.S. DETECTIVE Unforgettable, 9pm, Sky Living
THE thin but cheery investigative drama continues its final season with the return of Carrie’s exhusband, Eddie (Skeet Ulrich). That is less interesting than the twisty-turny case, in which Carrie (Poppy Montgomery) looks into the murder of a journalist.
MUSIC MEMORIES People’s History Of Pop, 9.30pm, BBC4
DANNY BAKER’S appreciation of pop and pop fandom deals with 1966 to 1976. Amid the history of these ‘golden years’ are the memories of fans — of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the Isle of Wight Festival and more — and these give the series its unique perspective.
