AT 62 she still looks stunning. But what many women will envy most is Christie Brinkley’s youthful neck. While most her age suffer from turkey neck, the supermodel is enviably wrinkle-free.
Now the mother of three, who was once married to Billy Joel, has revealed her secret – Botox.
‘As you approach 60, women start to notice the neck, especially in taller women. You can start to see these bands, vertical bands, and those can be tamed and tightened by injections of Botox into those bands,’ she told US magazine Social Life.
But Miss Brinkley limits the treatment to her neck, refusing to have the injections in her face or forehead.
She tried Botox in her face once but was horrified by the results. ‘My left eyebrow dropped. I hated it,’ revealed Miss Brinkley, who has admitted to using fillers to ease the lines around her mouth.
Her secret will strike a chord with Hollywood comedy writer Nora Ephron, who once bemoaned the effects of ageing on the necks of women over 40. She said: ‘Sometimes I go out to lunch with my girlfriends, and I look around the table and realise we’re all wearing turtleneck sweaters.
‘We all look good for our age – except for our necks. Chicken necks, turkey gobbler necks.’
