FAKE flowers used to be akin to knitted toilet roll covers — an absolute no-no in any stylish home.
But suddenly, they are oh-sofashionable, thanks to a new breed of bouquets that look and even feel real.
With the help of high-tech materials and design methods, faux flowers have become almost indistinguishable from the real thing.
Artificial arrangements are finding their way into the most chic of homes, with high-end design company OKA — run by Samantha Cameron’s mother, Annabel Astor — seeing sales of its range soar by 89 per cent over the past year.
Meanwhile, Sainsbury’s has launched a line by celebrity florist Jane Packer, whose clients include Kate Moss and Givenchy. We asked highsociety interior designer and etiquette expert Nicky Haslam (above) — who has designed the homes of celebrities and royalty — to see if the latest fake flowers pass muster.
