Mixture of pink English Garden Roses, Hydrangea stems, Hops and Scabiosa stems (£516, oka.com) WHAT ARE THEY? Sophisticated plastics (polymers) and latex — unheard of in the fake flower industry until recently. NICKY SAYS: This would look fantastic in a huge crystal vase. Fill the vase with water (change it regularly) and everyone will think you’ve been raiding the garden.

There’s a little too much pink for my taste and the cornflower blue, while natural, is too overpowering for the display. But I’m very impressed by the natural-looking hydrangeas and the exquisite rose buds.

Buying this many fresh flowers would cost well over £200. 7/10
