- By Rachel Watson

A MAN has died following a crash which left four others – including two children – in hospital.

Kai Milligan was killed in the one-car accident on the B7024 near Blairston Mearns, Ayr, on Saturday night.

The 19-year-old woman driving the Vauxhall Corsa appeared to have lost control of the vehicle before it left the road.

Emergency services went to the incident around 5pm but Mr Milligan, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 12-year-old boy is being treated at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock following the crash. His condition has been described as stable.

A 15-year-old boy was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow where he remains in a stable condition. The driver and a 17-year-old woman in the car were taken by ambulance to Ayr Hospital where they were both released after treatment for minor injuries.

Last night friends paid tribute to Mr Milligan, from Maybole, Ayrshire, on social media.

Writing on Facebook Amy McCulloch said: ‘RIP Kai Milligan. Taken too soon.’

Jean Kelly wrote: ‘Thoughts are with the families of the people that were involved in the crash yesterday.

‘Kai, everyone who has known you has been saying you’ve had a big impact on everyone’s life and you will be sadly missed by many. I can’t believe this has happened.’

John Graham said: ‘Can’t believe it, a friend for many years has been taken too soon. RIP Kai Milligan you will be missed very sorely mate,’ while Sean Auld wrote: ‘RIP Kai, you were one of the best. I will never forget you bro.’

Sergeant Andy Johnston of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine said: ‘Our inquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.

‘I would ask anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the car on the B7024 before the incident to contact the divisional road policing unit at Irvine on 101.’

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old woman was killed on Sunday night when the Citroen C3 she was driving came off the road and crashed into a wall on the A937 near North Craigo, Angus, around 9.40pm.

Appealing for witnesses, a police spokesman said: ‘No other people were travelling in the vehicle.’
