Drug mule Melissa in the arms of a new boyfriend
SHE was released from prison in Peru only two months ago after being convicted of smuggling drugs.
But Melissa Reid looks as if she is settling back into normal life after she was pictured in a bar with a mystery man.
Reid, from Lenzie, near Glasgow, was only 20 years old when she and Michaela McCollum were given six-year prison terms in 2013 for trying to smuggle £1.5million worth of cocaine out of Lima Airport.
The pair – nicknamed the Peru Two – were released earlier this year and the new images show Reid cosying up to her new boyfriend at Edinburgh’s Sportsters Bar on Saturday, a few days after her 23rd birthday.
An onlooker said: ‘She hasn’t been seen out much since she came home so I was surprised to see her there.
‘There were plenty of booths but she was standing in the middle of the pub next to a pillar, kissing and hugging the guy. She seemed a wee bit on edge but she wasn’t trying to hide.
‘Her arms were around him the whole time and they were taking selfies on her phone. It was just the two of them and she seemed comfortable with him.’
There was no answer at the Reid family home yesterday.
