The new face wipes that WON’T ruin your skin
FACIAL skin wipes sell by the bucket load in the UK because they are cheap and quick. But some say they actually cause fine lines and spots and many aren’t biodegradable.
Despite the drawbacks, busy women up and down the country swear by them, which is why it might come as good news that face wipes are getting a makeover.
Estee Lauder has just launched a set of Dissolve the Drama face wipes (£12, that won’t pull on your skin or cause irritation. As well as removing the heaviest of make-up, the wipes also prime your skin ready for moisturiser. Lauren Napier’s cleansing wipes (£33,
are also a step above a traditional face wipe, with cucumber, aloe and an ultra soft cloth.
Finally, Clinique’s Take the Day Off Micellar Cleansing Wipes (£16,
are for sensitive skin. ‘A wipe is only as good as the ingredients,’ says cosmetic dermatologist Dr Sam Bunting. ‘Often, higher-end products put too much into their pots or wipes. Stick to simple, no-nonsense formulations to avoid doing your skin any harm.’
