Ramsay fined for speeding across moor

-

GORDON Ramsay has been fined £500 for speeding in his Range Rover.

The 49-year-old admitted driving at 70mph in a temporary 40mph speed zone.

The Scots chef was caught as he crossed Bodmin Moor on the A30 in Cornwall. He owns a £4.4million house at nearby Rock.

Ramsay, who was not in court, was also given six penalty points by Bodmin magistrates when the case was heard on Wednesday.

Originally from Johnstone, Renfrewshire, he owns restaurants around the world and stars in television shows in the UK and the United States. He also has homes in Malibu and London.

Ramsay won an eight-month planning battle with neighbours in July to have his Cornish holiday home demolished so he can build two houses on the land around 100 yards from the beach.

It is believed the main house will have two kitchens, a swimming pool, a wine cellar and four en suite bathrooms as well as a three-bedroom annex at the foot of the garden.
