Arsenal close to double swoop for La Liga pair

ARSENE WENGER is set for a £50million double swoop on La Liga pair Shkodran Mustafi and striker Lucas Perez. Arsenal have had bids accepted for both players and are sure of clinching the deals before the transfer window closes on Wednesday. Valencia have resisted Arsenal’s advances for Mustafi but are now ready to do business after lining up an £8m deal for Sidnei from Deportivo La Coruna as a replacement. Perez, meanwhile, has a release clause in his contract of £16.9m, which was met by Arsenal and Everton. Perez is expected to sign a four-year deal at the Emirates, with the lure of Champions League football proving the clincher.
