‘Gay porn’ computer searches of boy rapist aged just 11

- By James Tozer

THE youngest boy ever convicted of male rape in Britain had searched online for gay pornography, it emerged yesterday.

The 11-year-old – who raped a boy of nine and sexually assaulted two others aged seven and 11 – was found to have made computer searches for ‘gay porn’ and ‘gay rape porn’, a court heard.

He was yesterday locked up for four years by a judge who said he was concerned the youngster had been ‘affected’ by what he had seen on gay porn websites.

The case once again highlights fears about the ease with which impressionable young children can access explicit material on the internet and be tempted to copy what they have seen.

Now aged 13, the boy raped the younger boy 15 times and was only caught when the victim’s mother heard suspicious noises via a baby monitor in her son’s bedroom, an earlier hearing was told.

He also sexually assaulted a seven-year-old boy and then twice sexually assaulted an

The defendant, from Blackpool, Lancashire, who was himself previously the victim of sexual abuse, cannot be named for legal reasons. The offences took place between April last year and August this year.

The teenager pleaded guilty to a charge of raping the same boy 15 times and three charges of sexual touching.

A pre-sentence report said the risk of him offending again was high, the court heard.

The judge told the boy he would be subject to notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act upon his release.

Virginia Hayton, defending, said there were ‘concerns about his upbringing that may be the cause of the commissioning of these offences’.

Several boys have previously been convicted of raping girls at the age of 11. The youngest age at which children can be prosecuted in an English court is ten.
