It’s a brop!

May’s softer new hairdo is half bob and half crop

-

FOR once it wasn’t Theresa May’s heels that grabbed the spotlight. Yesterday, it was all about the hair.

It seems that, at the age of 60, Mrs May has finally found a style (right) that suits her.

After years of experimenting with rather masculine crops and rigid, blow-dried bobs she has arrived at a supremely flattering and less ageing look.

Soft, layered and full of movement, the ‘brop’ – halfway between a bob and a crop – frames and flatters the face. Keeping her colour a natural salt and pepper also flatters Mrs May’s skin tone – a harsh dye can drain the face of colour. Mrs May is said to have her hair cut at a hairdressers near her Sonning, Berkshire, home but often styles it herself.

But her recent Annie Leibovitz fashion shoot for US Vogue surely had something to do with the more modern, softer styling of her hair which is now fractionally shorter around the ears.

A stylist would have been on hand at the shoot to trim and style her hair. And although Mrs May is her own woman when it comes to fashion choices, her Vogue makeover is evident.
