SEEING a man wandering the streets of Edinburgh in 18th century military uniform is a pretty outlandish sight.
Or perhaps that should be an ‘Outlander’ sight, because scenes for the hit US time-travel drama were being shot in the capital yesterday.
Hollywood actress Caitriona Balfe, 37, and co-star Sam Heughan, 36, were spotted walking through the Old Town wearing their costumes.
Miss Balfe was wrapped up in a grey coat as she waited around between shoots at Tweeddale Court.
Heughan, who plays Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in the series, was decked out in a warm woollen jacket topped off with a period tricorn hat.
Extras were also seen on the streets as they waited to shoot scenes for the award-winning show’s third series.
Fan Donna-Marie Gardiner could not contain her enthusiasm on Twitter after she spotted signs of the production in her home town.
She tweeted: ‘Excited for season 3 eeeeeeeek, man I love my city.’
