Bouncy curls straight from Hollywood

SHE has just met her brother-inlaw’s glamorous American girlfriend for the first time, which may go some way to explain the Duchess of Cambridge’s new look.

Or maybe, like many women at the start of a new year, she just felt it was high-time for an image overhaul. But whatever the reason, Kate looked as if she was about to appear on the Hollywood red carpet yesterday rather than a mental health charity event in rain-lashed London. The understated Duchess, who usually favours a natural look, was wearing heavier than normal make-up. But it was her hair which made everyone take notice.

Kate has a naturally wondrous head of chestnut hair which she wears in a simple, unfussy style. Yesterday it looked bigger, bouncier and more Hollywood than ever before. It has been expertly dyed to hide any grey hairs, layered around the face to add volume and has clearly had a seriously luxurious blow-dry involving heated rollers.

Mothers often find their hair thinning and some resort to extensions. Perhaps Kate didn’t have to go quite that far, but this new style has seriously upped the glamour stakes. There’s no chance anyone will upstage this confident 35-yearold now – even a US TV star.
