More misery for Moyes as Lincoln City do Taylor proud

-

DAVID MOYES and Sunderland were dumped out of the FA Cup last night after losing to Burnley in a third-round replay at Turf Moor. Sam Vokes and Andre Gray scored the goals in a 2-0 victory as the Clarets piled on the pain for Moyes. Sunderland sit second-bottom of the Premier League, with the Scot being hamstrung by a lack of investment from the board. ‘I’ve tried not to use it as an excuse but it’s fact — we’re short,’ said Moyes of his squad. Elsewhere, Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace defeated League One side Bolton 2-1 thanks to two goals from Christian Benteke. Palace now face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the fourth round at Selhurst Park. Non-league Lincoln City had former manager Graham Taylor smiling down from the heavens as they scored a 90th-minute winner to defeat Championship side Ipswich Town 1-0, while Sutton recorded a shock 3-1 win at AFC Wimbledon.
