SPFL CHAMPIONSHIP
Dumbarton v Ayr
AFTER playing 120 minutes midweek in their Scottish Cup replay, it will be interesting to see how much Ayr have left in the tank. Confidence may be high in the Ayr dressing room but with a four-point lead over the Honest Men, Dumbarton will be heavy favourites and a 3-0 defeat at the Rock to today’s rivals earlier in the campaign will mean that Stevie Aitken’s men will be fired up going into this clash. PROBABLE TEAMS: DUMBARTON (4-1-4-1): Martin; Smith, Buchanan, Barr, Harvie; Docherty; Thomson, Carswell, Stanton, Stirling; Nade.
AYR UTD (4-4-1-1): Fleming; Devlin, Balatoni, McKenna, Boyle; McDaid, , Adams, Docherty, Cairney; Harkins; El Alagui. Referee: John McKendrick.
Morton v Falkirk
THIS could be seen as a six-pointer as the race for the coveted secondplace spot intensifies. A 3-0 victory over Dundee United saw Falkirk go level with Morton, just three points behind the Tannadice side, and now with four wins in their last five. The clubs are yet to be split this term, as both league games have ended in 1-1 draws, but 31 victories from 75 Cappielow meetings hands Morton the edge. PROBABLE TEAMS:
MORTON (4-4-2): Gaston; Doyle, O’Ware, Lamie, Russell; Forbes, Murdoch, Lindsay, Nesbitt; Oliver, Shankland.
FALKIRK (4-4-2): Rogers; Muirhead, Watson, Grant, Leahy; Sibbald, McKee, Craigen, Hippolyte; Miller, Baird. Referee: Greg Aitken.
Raith v Hibernian
JOHN HUGHES is back in football management at Raith after being out of the game since the end of last season when he left Inverness. Raith are the only Championship side who are unbeaten against Hibs this campaign, having drawn both of the previous meetings. With Rovers in such poor form — winless in 14 games — it would be something of a shock if they avoided defeat today. PROBABLE TEAMS: RAITH ROVERS (4-4-2): Cuthbert; Thomson, Benedictus, M’voto, McHattie; Johnston, Callachan, Matthews, Barr; Stewart, McManus.
HIBS (4-3-3): Marciano; Gray, Fontaine, McGregor, Stevenson; Bartley, McGinn, Fyvie; Humphrey, Cummings, Keatings.
Referee: Craig Charleston.
