Navy orders end to sailors’ sexy pin-ups
SAILORS have been banned from putting pictures of topless models on their cabin walls because it might offend their female comrades.
The rules were brought in after female staff complained they felt intimidated by the images. The ban applies to all surface ships, submarines and shore bases. The Ministry of Defence says sailors flouting it could face disciplinary action and be charged with sexual harassment.
A source told The Sun: ‘This is part of the service coming in to the 21st century, being more inclusive and not offending women.’
A Navy spokesman said: ‘The Royal Navy makes sure that the work environment, whether ashore or at sea, is inclusive and appropriate.’
