£500,000 — AND COUNTING!
OF COURSE, the whole point of the Bank of Mum and Dad is that they’re not keeping count, but here’s what I estimate they might have given me over the years:
AN AVERAGE of £100 cash every three months, since I left home at 18 = £13,600
THREE sons in private day schools for as long as the money lasted = £340,000
SUNDRY treats for the boys, £100 a year since they were small = £1,500
FIRST car: £250
FIRST flat in the early Eighties: £30,000
YEARLY holidays in Norfolk, again ever since I left home at 18 = £120,000
Grand total: £505,350
