Liable to backfire

JUST when you think Tony Blair has realised he is a spent force, he pops up again, this time to give a broadside to Brexit and extol the virtues of being in the EU.

I am not in the Brexit camp but they will not be dismayed by an opinion that carries little weight nowadays from someone who would have added embracing the euro to his many blunders.

He ostensibly gives comfort to the SNP in Scotland, by his view that Brexit makes the case for independence credible. However, his poor judgment is on record and the intervention is more likely to bolster the status quo.
