Afiniti, which provides software to call centres, is believed to be seeking backers as it prepares for a £1.6bn flotation on the New York Stock Exchange.

The princess attended the World Economic Forum in Davos last month with Zia Chishti, the founder of Afiniti, where the pair met with senior British businessmen.

Seventh in line to the throne, Princess Beatrice graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London, with a degree in history and history of ideas in 2011.

She now works with a number of charities, including Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre, English National Ballet School and Children in Crisis, which was founded by her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York.

Chishti was previously chief executive at medical device tech company Align Technology, which he led to listing on the Nasdaq. The firm, which makes braces for teeth straightening, now has a market capitalisation of £6.57bn.

Afiniti could not be reached for comment. A spokesman for the princess said: ‘Princess Beatrice is continuing in her business career.’
