Farcical judiciary

-

THE impasse between US President Donald Trump and his judges brings into focus our own judiciary system and its senior members.

Lord Neuberger, our most senior judge, said recently our lawyers and judges aren’t well treated because they view life differently. I agree: they are entirely out of touch with the realities of the outside world.

The recent saga of hate preacher Hani al-Sibai (Mail) highlights the farcical situation that exists in our judicial system.

He arrived here in 1994, linked up with terrorist groups and was refused asylum in 1998. His deportation was stopped by human rights lawyers and he carried on with further involvement with terror groups. How many youths has he radicalised during those years in the UK, courtesy of our judiciary and the EU courts? We’re still trying to deport him.

I lived and worked in the Middle East for many years, as a professional associated with the military. I learned that the image projected there of the UK is that it’s an ideal safe haven for extremists. It has easy border entry and, once in, free social support, lawyers all too eager to argue your case and a judiciary which will ensure that you need not fear extradition to face your crimes.

We not only give a safe haven to extremists, we allow them freely to preach their extreme doctrines and radicalise vulnerable youths who go on to commit acts of terror.

We conduct secret court sessions, a process from the Dark Ages, before Magna Carta. And we allow the hounding and jailing of British Forces personnel and veterans who fought on behalf of the British people.

It’s high time the Government set up an inquiry into the practices and procedures of our judicial system, which was meant to protect the UK and its people, but no longer does.
