There’s no love between us and Russia, US tells United Nations
US ambassador to the United nations insisted last night that ‘there’s no love’ between america and Russia.
nikki Haley, a Trump appointment, said she is ‘beating up’ Russia even as investigators continue to examine possible links between the Kremlin and the president’s camp.
Her comments came as damaging new details emerged of contact between Putin’s regime and Mr Trump’s disgraced former national security advisor Michael Flynn. ‘There’s no love or anything going on with Russia right now,’ ambassador Haley told ABC news. ‘They get that we’re getting our strength back ... and that we’re starting to lead again.’ She said america is holding Russia accountable on issues relating to Syria, Iran and human rights violations.
according to documents released by the White House, former general Mr Flynn failed to disclose payments from a Russian television network and a second firm linked to the Kremlin in a February financial disclosure form.
It shows Mr Flynn initially failed to tell the government’s ethics office and the White House about recent speaking fees he received from three Russia-linked firms. Mr Flynn already faces scrutiny for contacts with Russian officials in a wider probe into Kremlin meddling in the presidential election.
Mr Flynn, sacked after just 24 days for failing to come clean about recent discussions with Russian officials, has requested immunity from ‘unfair prosecution’ if he testifies before two congressional intelligence committees.
Mrs Haley insisted Mr Trump was ‘not stopping me from beating up on Russia.’
