MODEL Caprice Bourret was diagnosed with a brain tumour during her appearance on TV show The Jump.

The 45-year-old has undergone surgery for the tumour, understood to be the size of a thumb, which was discovered while she was competing in the Channel 4 winter sports show in February.

At the time, a representative said she had withdrawn from The Jump due to an illness but gave no details.

Now Miss Bourret has revealed her diagnosis and praised The Jump’s production team for insisting she consulted a doctor for her symptoms during filming for the competition.

She told Hello! magazine: ‘I found out while I was competing in the show and boy, was it more horrific than any of the challenges.

‘I had headaches that were not going away and my vision was beginning to act up so the show’s production insisted I see their doctor.

‘My first thought was for my two little boys. I’m their rock and keep my family together. It was the scariest moment I’d ever experienced.’

It was not clear last night if the tumour was benign or how her recovery is going. Miss Bourret, who runs her own lingerie and property businesses, had two sons in 2013 at the age of 41.

The three-year-olds, named Jett and Jax, were born within a month of each other – one to a surrogate, while the other was born naturally. The unusual situation came about after Miss Bourret fell pregnant by her partner, financier Ty Comfort, having already signed up with a surrogate agency in the US.

Following her sons’ birth, Miss Bourret said: ‘People don’t understand that they are both mine.

‘They are genetically, biologically mine and I don’t want to make a big deal about it. The way I look at it, I just had a babysitter for one of them. I love them both exactly the same and I am so thankful for each of them.’

Miss Bourret, who moved to Britain from the States in 1996, shot to fame modelling for Wonderbra, and went on to be a £10,000-a-day cover girl for Vogue, Cosmopolitan, GQ, FHM and esquire.

During The Jump, Miss Bourret also fractured her ribs after flying off a ski jump and hitting herself in the chest with her skis.

She became the third contestant forced to quit the fourth series due to injury or illness. Irish model Vogue Williams pulled out before the show started after dislocating her knee and Sir Bradley Wiggins broke his ankle.

The show has repeatedly seen stars suffering injuries since it first aired in 2014.
