SHE is preparing for her first formal outing at Prince Harry’s side. And when Meghan Markle attends Pippa Middleton’s wedding this month, it will no doubt renew speculation about how long it will be before she becomes a royal bride.

In the meantime, Harry’s glamorous girlfriend has provided fresh insight into her lifestyle and tastes – proving herself to be something of a domestic goddess.

In a photoshoot and interview for Good Housekeeping magazine published today, the American actress reveals that she loves to cook – with the perfect roast chicken a speciality.

Miss Markle, 35, is pictured in a series of outfits, including a sheer white laser-cut sun dress and a short nautical-style dress.

In other photographs posted on the internet with a behind-thescenes video, the divorcee also models a blue gingham top and white jeans.

Los Angeles-born Miss Markle, who has been dating Harry for ten months, aired her views on everything from the foods in her fridge – which include hummus and almond milk – to which emojis she favours when sending messages from her smartphone. The actress, who stars in US legal drama Suits, also discussed her favourite fashions, including her fondness for fake leather trousers.

‘My wardrobe for my part in Suits isn’t like Working Girl [the 1988 Melanie Griffith film],’ said Miss Markle. ‘The key is to have your own point of view attached to it. I love cropped pants in vegan leather, a great fitted blazer and a button-down [shirt].’

On food, she said: ‘I really love to cook.’ Quizzed on the five things that are always in her fridge, she listed hummus, carrots, green juice, almond milk and homemade chia seed pudding.

But in case she appeared a food faddist, she stressed: ‘There is honestly nothing as delicious, or as impressive, in my opinion, as a perfectly roasted chicken.

Miss Markle revealed a hidden talent: ‘I used to be a calligrapher. I love the art of a handwritten note... [it’s] a lost art form.’

The photoshoot and interview were arranged for Good Housekeeping magazine in the US last year, weeks before she started dating Harry, and are now being published by its UK sister publication. Miss Markle is currently working in Canada – Suits is filmed in Toronto – but is due back in the UK for the wedding of the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister on May 20, the first event she will officially attend with Harry.

The full interview is in the June issue of Good Housekeeping, on sale today.
