GREGOR’S THREE FAVOURITE GAMES

-

February 15, 2013 Newport Gwent Dragons 3 Glasgow Warriors 60 Venue: Rodney Parade

‘This win came in my first season in charge and was massively significant as it showed we could win well away from home. The club had not won at Rodney Parade for five years before we ran in eight tries. We played some brilliant rugby that night in what was the best game I had been involved in with Glasgow up until that point. ‘It was one of those nights when we came out with good intent in defence and attack and everything clicked. I knew we had the makings of something good after that.’

May 30, 2015 Glasgow 31 Munster 13 Venue: Kingspan Stadium, Belfast.

‘The PRO12 Final win will always remain the biggest victory and memory of my time with Glasgow. It was a huge honour to be involved in such a major result for the club, who hadn’t won the league up until that point. ‘The players delivered big time in every aspect of our play and we scored some fantastic tries. I was very satisfied and very proud of the group of players involved. ‘I remember the excellent way the players prepared for that game and how there was an air of confidence about them. They were so calm in the build-up and the rugby they delivered when it mattered under pressure was superb.’

January 21, 2017 Leicester Tigers 0 Glasgow Warriors 43 Venue: Welford Road, Leicester

‘We were playing away at a tough venue against a top side and not only did we win, but we won well. The players executed nearly every aspect of their play perfectly. ‘They thoroughly deserved their win that day and their place in the last eight of the Champions Cup. It was a pivotal moment not just for Glasgow, but for Scottish rugby. Nearly twenty or so years ago, Glasgow played at Leicester in Europe and conceded 90 points. We went there this time and beat them, which helped show the strides taken by Scottish rugby.’
