HE is set to turn 63 later this year, but George Galloway has insisted he will have more children with his fourth wife.

The controversial politician welcomed a fifth child last month – daughter Orla Dhein – with wife Putri Gayatri, 32.

And despite having four young children at the age of 62, Mr Galloway has revealed his plans to continue expanding his family.

However, this may have to wait as he is contesting the Manchester Gorton constituency in the General Election, where he hopes to overturn a Labour majority of 24,000.

Mr Galloway married Miss Gayatri in 2012 and the couple have two children, three-year-old Toren Mustaqim and newborn Orla.

He has three other children from previous relationships – five-year-old Faris, Zein, ten, and 27-year-old Lucy.

Speaking over the weekend, Mr Galloway said that he planned to ensure that his family keeps growing.

He added: ‘It used to be the tradition of Irish Catholic immigrants to have six children, so I’m not stopping here.

‘As long as God gives me breath – and energy – there will be more.

‘I’ve now got four children under ten, which is not something I expected when I reached 62.

‘But it’s the best thing that ever happened to me.

‘There’s nothing keeps you young like your children climbing over your face in the morning to wake you up. It’s life-enhancing.’

Mr Galloway, who was once referred to as Gorgeous George, also revealed the extent of his vanity by admitting his now trademark fedora is worn to hide scars on his forehead.

The Dundee-born politician was attacked by drug addict Neil Masterson in 2014, which has left him with scarring across his head.

Masterson was jailed for 16 months following the assault in London, but Mr Galloway insists the scarring has been lifechanging for him.

He said: ‘I’m the artist formerly known as Gorgeous George. That’s why I wear my hat. I am too vain.

‘There is no question of my showing you the scars. I was offered £25,000 for that but turned it down.’

Mr Galloway first became an MP in 1987 after winning the Glasgow Hillhead seat for Labour.

He was expelled from the party in 2003 in the wake of outspoken comments on the Iraq war. In 2005 he was elected MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, standing as a Respect candidate.

He represented Bradford West after a by-election in 2012 but lost his seat in 2015.

Mr Galloway also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006 where he pretended to be a cat and lick cream from actress Rula Lenska’s hands.

In November, while talking about Brexit at an event at Aberdeen University, he was left ‘shaken’ after a student threw a substance, thought to be glitter, over him.

Mr Galloway later said he was not given adequate security.
