BBC host ‘stripped in front of boy aged 11’

... then had sex with his friend in bushes, court told

A FORMER BBC radio host stripped for an 11-year-old boy before having sex with his friend, a court heard.

The youngest alleged victim of Julie Wadsworth, 60, told jurors she would ‘get her boobs out’ for him – and several years later asked: ‘Do you want an experience?’

Now in his 30s, the man said Mrs Wadsworth was wearing a strappy top and a short skirt but no knickers when the alleged offence took place.

He told Warwick Crown Court that Mrs Wadsworth and her husband Tony, 69, who also worked for BBC radio, also allowed him to watch them having ‘full sex against a tree’.

He also claimed Mrs Wadsworth later had sex with one of his friends in the bushes. Speaking in a video interview, he added: ‘There was a woman sunbathing topless with a man and I didn’t know who they were.

‘I was with my brother and his mates and we asked what they were doing.

‘He was just sat down with her and he was fully clothed. I remember me saying, “get your boobs out” and she did a couple of times. I don’t think the fella felt comfortable with me being there and me being so young.’

During an intimate encounter she remained silent, he added.

‘She didn’t say anything, she must have known we were all under-age, you can tell if someone is old enough can’t you?’ The alleged victim also claimed that the Wadsworths had intercourse against a tree in front of the youths on another occasion. He said: ‘They had full sex up against a tree, we were about ten metres away. They knew I was there but didn’t ask how old I was. ‘She said, “We just come up and have a bit of sex and stuff” and that is when she said, “Do you want an experience?”.’

The historic alleged offences involving seven boys date to between 1992 and 1996, at a time when the defendants were presenting shows from the BBC’s Pebble Mill building in Birmingham for the Corporation’s local WM radio station. They use the names Wadsworth and Mayer on air, and broadcast most recently on BBC Radio Leicester. The cou-

The couple deny indecent assault and outraging public decency. The trial continues.
