Pippa and her £11k-a-NIGHT honeymoon

- By Ben Wilkinson

AFTER spending up to £1.2million on her wedding, the new Pippa Matthews is enjoying a honeymoon to match.

The first leg of the no-expense-spared, roundthe-world trip saw Pippa and her husband James island hopping in French Polynesia.

Now they have moved on to Sydney, where they are understood to be saying at an exclusive hotel where the top suite costs up to £11,000 a night.

So far their luxurious trip Down Under has seen them scale the Sydney Harbour Bridge and dine on raw kangaroo.

Mr and Mrs Matthews are staying in the penthouse at the five-star Park Hyatt hotel on Sydney harbour, which comes complete with a 24-hour butler, Australian media reported.

The hotel’s Sydney Suite – which offers panoramic views of Sydney’s iconic Opera House – features a private outdoor terrace, spa bath, sauna and steam room.

The couple, who enjoyed their grandiose wedding in Berkshire on May 20, had been expected to end their honeymoon on the sun-kissed private island of Tetiaroa and return to the UK for a further break in Scotland.

But their surprise stop in Australia means their honeymoon will have taken them around the world by the time they return home. The newlyweds were seen scaling the Sydney Harbour Bridge yesterday after a day spent exploring the city.

Clad in safety gear, Pippa, 33, looked somewhat uncertain as she led her husband

along the narrow metal walkways towards the summit.

At one point she glanced down nervously as she followed another couple towards the bridge’s arch, which offers climbers breath-taking views over the city at 440ft above sea level.

The pair had earlier taken a sea plane to the secluded Cot- tage Point Inn, an exclusive riverside restaurant in the north of Sydney, where they had lunch with friends. Owner Ally Olesen said Pippa enjoyed the restaurant’s signature dish, kangaroo tartare.

They completed the day with dinner at waterfront restaurant the Flying Fish.

The couple started their honeymoon on Tetiaroa, a Pacific island formerly owned by Marlon Brando. The tiny paradise was once a summer residence for the chiefs and kings of Tahiti.

It is thought Pippa and her financier husband, 41, stayed at the Brando, dubbed the most luxurious eco-friendly resort on the planet, which will have cost them around £3,000 a night.
