- By STEPHEN McGOWAN

Scott dropped a huge hint Saints will offer their manager a large pay rise and a longer deal to keep him in Paisley after his heroics kept the club in the Championship against all odds. ‘We will do everything in our power to keep Jack at the club without putting the finances of the club in peril,’ Scott told Sportsmail. ‘If I need to go and see Jack in Spain, rest assured that it will be done.’ Scott has already rejected Dundee’s initial request to speak to Ross but Nelms remains determined to pursue his No 1 target and flew overseas yesterday in his quest to find a replacement for departed interim-boss Neil McCann.
